Gamers will have a clear motivation to play the mode

Ryan Bernard, a developer working on the upcoming The Division at the Massive studio, says that his team is creating an innovative Player versus Player experience for the new title, which will make sure that gamers have something to lose when they are defeated.

He tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, “We want player versus player to be meaningful, and the way player versus player gets meaningful is you need to have something to lose – it’s not just a scorecard in a multiplayer map.”

It’s unclear how the Ubisoft team plans to make sure that the mode has importance to the player community without making the loss of something valuable a frustrating experience.

Apparently, DayZ, the mod for Arma 2, is the model for the work done on the Division, which might mean that gamers will lose some of their gear when they are killed.
