The Cave, the new side-scrolling adventure game from Double Fine and Sega, has just received a concrete release date, as the title will hit the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 next week, and the Nintendo Wii U in the near future.

Double Fine, the studio behind hits like Psychonauts, and famous designer Ron Gilbert, the man responsible for Monkey Island or Maniac Mansion, have worked for some time on The Cave, a side-scrolling adventure game that's set to be published by Sega.

After checking out a few videos and screenshots that highlighted the seven different characters, The Cave has now received some concrete release dates.

As such, the game will be released for the PlayStation 3 in North America on January 22 and will debut for the PS3 in Europe as well as for the PC and Xbox 360 worldwide on January 23.

The game is set to cost $14.99/ €12.99/£9.99/1200 MS Points.

The Cave will also debut onto the Wii U eShop at a later point in time.
