The launch of the single-player campaign might change that

The development team at Stoic Games says that its free-to-play title The Banner Saga: Factions is not making too much money for the company at the moment.

The situation might change after the paid single-player part of the game is launched later during the fall.

Alex Thomas, the creative director working on the game, says that his team was worried about the reaction that gamers might have if it monetized the title aggressively.

He tells Rock, Paper, Shotgun that, “We really haven’t been supporting Factions much recently. If Factions really was our focus and we wanted to make that a profitable thing, there’s lots of stuff on the table for us to do. But we haven’t had time to do any of it because of single-player.”

Once the story section of The Banner Saga is out, all changes made to one area of the game will also be introduced to the other, leading to new powers and strategies for gamers to explore.
