Steve Allison, senior vice president of publishing at Telltale Games, believes that all big video game franchises that currently exist could benefit from the launch of an episodic adventure game series that uses their lore.

He tells Polygon that, “When properties become a franchise, people fall in love with the characters. Kevin’s dream was to find one that has great characters and passionate fans and try to do something with it.”

At the moment the company is working with Gearbox in order to create Tales from the Borderlands, which will focus on locations and characters taken from the shooter universe.

The title is expected to launch at some point in 2014.

Until then adventure game lovers will be able to experience the Telltale Games created second episodes for both The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead: Season Two.
