Karl Slatoff, the president of Take Two, says that his company has no plans to invest in social gaming just because everyone is doing it and will continue to focus on creating core games like the Grand Theft Auto series.

GamesIndustry.biz is quoting the executive as saying during the BMO Capital Markets Technology and Digital Media Conference that, “We don’t deploy hundreds of millions of dollars into social gaming because that’s what everybody wants to talk about, or into a mobile gaming company that has one product.”

Slatoff has also suggested that other companies are hoping to get lucky in the social gaming space, but do not have a clear strategy for the genre.

Take Two has recently launched GTA V, which is poised to be one of the best-selling titles of the year, and Rockstar is continuing to add content for the Online multiplayer mode.
