The indie studio wants to make a bold leap forward

Surgeon Simulator and I Am Bread developer Bossa Studios has announced another project, this time around something that seems a little more interesting than their other creations.

The studio joined forces with Improbably in order to create a physics-based crafting game titled Worlds Adrift, and the announcement video shows Bossa boss Henrique Olifiers explaining what the game is about, while also showing brief gameplay sequences.

The video shows some players swinging around the scenery using a sort of grappling hook, pretty much like Spider-Man does, and building some pretty big airships, created from smaller pieces put together.

The developer points out that the video is a tech demo with placeholder art meant to gauge the gaming community’s interest in the project, and urges those whose curiosity is peaked to stay tuned for the opening of Worlds Adrift’s official forums, in January 2015.

For the time being, the work-in-progress project has no prospective release date, and there has been no word regarding platforms, as the development process is in too early a stage for the time being.

Olifiers stated that the idea for the project was sparked by the studio’s desire to create a physics-based multiplayer game, as there isn’t anything like this yet out there, as nothing, from competitive shooters to massively multiplayer online role-playing games, is factoring in physics when it comes to game mechanics.
