Strider is an upcoming side-scrolling platform game developed by Double Helix Games in partnership with Capcom's Osaka studio, set for release some time during 2014.

Development of a reboot of the classic arcade title was first announced during 2009 and then cancelled, the current iteration being made possible due to the series' popularity, as made evident by Capcom's surveys and forums.

As the new trailer illustrates, Strider will feature music inspired by the original arcade hit but re-worked to present-day standards.

Egypt Theme, Raid, Siberian Tunnel and other original soundtracks are played side by side with their modern counterparts.

The echoes of familiar tunes are clearly present in the new remixes of the classic Capcom tunes, as Polygon notes.

The Capcom Unity blog also features an interview with the composer of Strider.

The classic arcade title reboot is scheduled for next year, arriving on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms.
