Developer Image & Form has released a brand new video showcasing gameplay from the upcoming 2D strategy game SteamWorld Heist.

The game is based on the popular steampunk universe of the studio's previous hit, an interesting platformer titled SteamWorld Dig, and aims to offer indie fans a brand new set of mechanics to toy around with.

The trailer is four minutes long and offers a pretty good overview of the way SteamWorld Heist plays, showing that gamers have to be strategic when going around their business, lining up their shots for maximum efficiency.

Ricochet and cover will play a pretty big role in the game, and there are also a ton of contraptions that you can make use of during your daring assaults.

Players assume control of a team of robots that explore the remnants of a ruined world in search of worthwhile scavenging material. You will be able to board enemy spacecraft and engage in turn-based combat against enemy crew members, as you can see below.

SteamWorld Heist is coming out sometime this fall, headed to Steam, the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita gaming devices from Sony, the Wii U and 3DS systems from Nintendo, and the Xbox One home entertainment system from Microsoft.
