Valve has just confirmed that a new batch of games have received support for the Steam Trading Cards system, including Alan Wake, Skulls of the Shogun, and much more.

It has also started offering special Mystery Cards, probably hinting at the upcoming Steam Summer Sale of 2013.

The Steam Trading Cards have proved to be quite popular with the millions of users of the digital distribution service, as they allow them to get special cards in the games they already own, which can then be used to create collections or be sold via the Steam Market.

After the mechanic went public last week, Valve has now added six new games to the Steam Trading Cards system, in the form of Alan Wake, Gun Monkeys, Gratuitous Space Battles, War of the Roses: Kingmaker, Skulls of the Shogun, and Endless Space.

All these titles now have trading cards, emoticons, profile backgrounds, and badges that can be collected by users.

What's more, the update also introduced Mystery Cards, which drop anytime a collection is crafted. It's unclear what these cards are and what their purpose will be, so expect more details soon.
