Steam, the hugely popular digital distribution service from Valve, has been plagued by intermittent outages in the last few days, culminating with a rather long offline period today, March 25, but the studio still hasn't shared anything about its problems.

Steam captured the hearts, minds, and wallets of tens of millions of users worldwide ever since its debut back in 2003. Thanks to an ever increasing catalog of titles, which includes not just games but also software, the service is among the most popular across PC, Mac, and Linux platforms.

Unfortunately, like any major online service, outages have been present over time, as users were unable to access it or its various features.

What's worse, however, is that in recent days things have gotten out of control.

Yesterday, March 24, and today, March 25, there has been a series of intermittent outages for Steam.

During these offline periods, some games weren't available and those who relied on Steam cloud save game storage weren't able to get the most recent files from Valve's servers.

Speaking of Valve's servers, massively popular online games like Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or Team Fortress 2 were also affected by the Steam outages, either kicking players from competitive matches, resulting in temporary bans because they abandoned the encounters, or not recording their wins or losses.

As of yet, Valve still isn't commenting on these outages and quite a lot of users on Reddit, for example, are growing extremely infuriated.
