Expect the new Valve devices soon enough

A brand new report has surfaced online, claiming that Valve will finally roll out the final versions of the Steam Machines, the SteamOS, and the Steam controller at the Game Developers Conference 2015 (GDC) in March.

Valve rocked the video games industry when it confirmed that it was leading a new initiative called Steam Machines, which promises to bring gaming-focused mini-PCs to living rooms. The devices would run a special Linux-based operating system dubbed SteamOS and employ Valve's own gamepad design called the Steam controller.

While all these things were promised for 2014, that didn't happen, as the SteamOS is still in beta, while the controller has gone through several redesigns. Meanwhile, Valve's hardware partners have released just a few devices that would classify as Steam Machines.

Now, according to a new report from NotOperator, the big rollout of the final versions of the Steam Machines, SteamOS, and the Steam controller is set to happen at the GDC 2015 event that takes place in San Francisco between March 2 and March 5.

No other details were given but it's quite possible that Valve might finally introduce some of its long-in-development projects alongside the new devices and software, in order to give companies like Microsoft or Sony a run for their money in terms of living room gaming, not just across the PC, Mac, or Linux platforms.
