The development team at Blizzard announces that the 2.1 patch for Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is now available for all fans of the strategy game to try out on the Public Test Realms before it is delivered to the general public.

A new Extension mods feature will make it easier for players to use custom game modes and maps without doing a lot of work and there are new mechanics added to Clans and Groups.

The team at Blizzard is offering a full breakdown of the changes in the official announcement.

The studio also announces that all fans will be able to use the classic Starcraft soundtrack and adds: "You'll be able to delight in fifteen years of StarCraft nostalgia by rocking out to the classic StarCraft and Brood War soundtracks while you play StarCraft II in the PTR."

The team asks all those who try out the new patch to offer clear feedback so that the developers can improve it.

A launch date for the update has not yet been offered.
