Season One of the 2014 Starcraft II league has officially commenced. The results of the Season Six 2013 league can be accessed via the Leagues and Ladders section of the Starcraft II character profile.

All the bonus pools and current standings have been reset, the Season Six milestones have been awarded.

The hidden skill ratings used by the internal matchmaking process will carry over from the previous season, so players that were already placed within a certain league prior to the Season Six 2013 lock will only need to play a single match in order to regain their placement.

Season One 2014 will also see the addition of new 1v1 and 2v2 maps to the ladder map pool, as well as the removal of a couple of old ones.

In addition to this, Blizzard will also be applying a free character name change for all accounts without one already available, as character name changes do not stack.
