The team at BioWare working on Star Wars: The Old Republic is launching a new version of the Rakghoul plague event in the MMO, which means that gamers need to be careful about their travel plans and make sure they do not get infected.

Initially reports started coming in from Alderaan that wild animals were attacking random citizens with no clear pattern.

Massively now reports that this is the first stage of a new plague outbreak, with Addalar Hyland, the director of Galactic Solutions Industries, confirms reports in the MMO and asking players to join special teams that are set to investigate the events.

The Rakghoul plague is one of the most potentially devastating events of the expanded Star Wars universe and the community will have to work together in order to eliminate it in The Old Republic.

BioWare says that it still has long term plans for the MMO, including a new update that will add ship battles.
