Electronic Arts confirmed a few more details about the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront shooter that's currently in development at DICE, revealing that the team is already making great progress on it and that it will have, besides first-person shooting, third-person components.

EA surprised a lot of people when it confirmed earlier this year that it now has the exclusive rights to make games based on the Star Wars franchise and, at E3 2013 last month, it confirmed that DICE is working on a new Star Wars: Battlefront game.

A few more details have just been revealed by EA's Frank Gibeau, who confirmed, via Videogamer, that the game is already well into development at DICE.

The shooter will be a core first-person experience, but Gibeau also revealed that a third-person component is included, although he declined to offer any more details.

The Star Wars: Battlefront series is quite loved by the gaming community, so EA needs to make sure that the new experience will delight veteran fans.
