The development team at Cryptic has already announced that Season Nine for Star Trek Online will be launched on April 22 and now the company is offering a video that shows all fans the story that the MMO has delivered to fans so far.

The studio has used a number of Feature Episodes to expand the narrative of its MMO, with the most recent of them called A Step Between Stars.

Season Nine for Star Trek Online will force players who are associated with the Federation, the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic to face a new and powerful enemy.

Gamers will get access to a new space battlezone and a lot of content that pits that against environmental threats, while the spacedocks will also get an upgrade.

Cryptic is offering Star Trek Online using a free-to-play model, with the MMO sustained via an array of microtransaction options.

The company has said that it plans to keep expanding the title in the long term with new seasons and new game features.

The title will face competition at some point in 2015, when Star Trek: Timelines, a new title from Game of Thrones: Ascent developer Disruptor Beam, is set to be launched, delivering a browser-based social experience.
