Cloud Imperium Games and Roberts Space Industries have managed to topple yet another milestone, now reaching an impressive $35 / €25 million in total funds gathered from the community, in support of their upcoming game Star Citizen.

Star Citizen is quite a success story, announcing an additional $5 / €3.5 million gathered this month alone, on top of last month's total of $30 / €22 million.

Star Citizen has managed to garner the support of over 335K backers, with an average pledge of around $100 / €73, a lot more than the asking price of many triple A releases, as VG247 points out.

A large amount of the latest money infusion came from a 6.6K new backers, rather than from existing backers increasing their pledge.

The new milestone marked the unlocking of another stretch goal in Star Citizen's crowdfunding campaign, the final fan-voted ship design, The Drake Herald.

The developers have announced the next stretch goal to be the stellar graveyard and have also reminded fans that they're planning to give something back to the community, in the form of the Foundry 42 / Squadron 42 competition announced on Friday.
