The announcement that Sony is working with Spotify to create an entirely new PlayStation Music service which is designed to work on the PlayStation 4, the PS3 and a range of mobile phones surprised a lot of people and it seems that the two companies have entered into a relatively long-term relationship.

The information comes from Reddit, where a player has posted an answer from an official customer service representative confirming that for now there are no plans to bring the application in any form to the Xbox One.

The music streaming service is becoming more popular as it offers more songs to users, with the library currently ready to deliver more than 30 million tracks.

Some artists criticize Spotify for the limited revenue that it generates for them and there are some who even refused to work with the company.

The PlayStation 4 and the PS3 will get both a premium and a free version and Sony says that more details will be offered before the app is launched.

Sony is planning to also rename its movie and TV show service PlayStation Video.

Besides that, it will also launch its first in-house created series, called Powers, on March 10 and more content might be introduced later in the year if it manages to be successful.
