Jade Raymond, the leader of the Ubisoft team working on the new Splinter Cell video game, says that the fan community actually liked the Mark and Execute mechanic that was introduced in Conviction despite criticism that appeared soon after launch.

The developer tells Eurogamer that, “we looked at our broader feedback - we do surveys through uPlay and get thousands and thousands of players - the people who rated those new features the highest were actually players who played at least two games in the series before.”

Mark and Execute allows the main character to quickly take out a number of enemies and eliminates the need for stealth movement because Fisher can deal with almost any threat via gunfire.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is expected to launch in late August on the PC and on home consoles.
