Video game publisher Ubisoft says that its upcoming Splinter Cell: Blacklist is now delayed to August 20 of this year, after initially being set to arrive during spring.

The game is still to be launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC.

The new date is being shown in the newly launched Inauguration trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

No official reason was given for the delay, but the game team presumably needs more time to polish the experience.

The trailer is linked to the coming inauguration of President Barack Obama and is designed to once again show players the core elements of the coming Blacklist experience, which focuses on the fight against an internal terrorist organization.

Ubisoft says that the coming Splinter Cell game will blend stealth and action mechanics.
