Nintendo has released a brand new video showing off how to cover the world in neon colors with the paint roller tool in Splatoon.
The third-person multiplayer shooter is one of the most exciting things headed to the Wii U, and it has sparked a lot of interest from the community, mainly due to the fact that it's a very child-friendly shooter.
Although you use a variety of guns (sort of), nobody dies, you simply respawn, and the overall mood is very silly and happy, as opposed to most gritty shooters that focus on providing a quasi-realistic experience.
In Splatoon, the goal is to cover as much of the arena you're playing in in your team's colors, using a wide range of unconventional tools, and take out the opposing team. Also, the players are anthropomorphic squids.
In addition to the multiplayer mode, the game also boasts a single-player mode, designed to appeal to those who don't envision themselves engaging in furiously colorful action with others.
The video below unveils the paint roller, which looks like a pretty powerful tool, probably the equivalent of heavy weaponry in conventional team-based shooters.
The game is headed exclusively to the Wii U device from Nintendo and is expected out sometime this May.
