The team at Splash Damage working on the multiplayer mode of Batman: Arkham Origins says that Robin’s appearance is not linked in any way to the story that the single player is telling.

Alastair Cornish, the creative director, tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, “It's best to think of it as being in the same broad fictional window, if that makes sense.”

The Warner Bros. team working on the game has made it clear that the experience is set in the early period of Batman’s career and that allows them to introduce a number of characters that would otherwise be overlooked.

The multiplayer allows players to choose between Batman and Robin and then battle gangs ruled by The Joker and Bane.

The game is out on October 25 of this year on the PC, the Wii U, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
