The military shooter Spec Ops: The Line, developed by Yager Entertainment and published by 2K Games, is available on the Steam digital distribution service from Valve until Thursday at 4 PM Pacific Standard Time.

The game is part of the Midweek Madness initiative and has been widely praised after it was launched for the way it implements first-person shooter mechanics and manages to introduce an interesting and nuanced story.

Spec Ops: The Line drops the player in the middle of Dubai on a rescue mission with two other Special Forces operatives but, as the game progresses, the player discovers that reality and morality might be more warped than at first sight.

Interested gamers can get Spec Ops: The Line for just 4.99 dollars or Euro, which represents a bargain for a game that nabbed a Best Surprise award in our own GOTY 2012 series.
