Sony does not want an increase in PlayStation 4 pre-orders

Jim Ryan, the leader of the European division of Sony, believes that the move to add extra content to a launch version of next-gen devices is odd and says that his company has no such plans for the PlayStation 4.

NeoGAF quotes him as saying that “we’ve actually had to turn off the day one pre-orders and now we’re onto day two. So why would we go out and add something?”

He is obviously referring to the announcement from Microsoft that all Xbox One pre-orders in Europe would come with a code to download FIFA 14 on launch.

The company has made the move in order to increase the appeal of its device, which is 100 Euro pricier than the PS4 and which has also been delayed in 13 countries into 2014.

The PlayStation 4 will be offered in Europe on November 29, and gamers in the United States will get it two weeks earlier.
