Gamers will appreciate the extension of the development period

Scott Rohde, an executive at Sony Worldwide Studios, says that gamers might be disappointed by the delay of Watch Dogs, the new open world game from Ubisoft, but they will thank the company once the experience is launched.

He tells Polygon that the publisher made the right call by moving the game to 2014 in order to give the developers more time to polish their vision of Chicago and a surveillance-driven world.

Rohde says, “They’ll be happier that spent that extra four or five months making that game great, because that game has so much promise.”

The executive also suggests that Sony’s own delay of DriveClub is a good idea because players will be able to experience a good game after they have recovered from the PlayStation 4 launch excitement.

The new console will be available in North America on November 15 and on November 29 in Europe.
