Guy Longworth, a senior vice president of PlayStation brand marketing for Sony, believes that his company currently has no reasons to cut the price of its PlayStation Vita handheld.

Speaking in an interview to GamesIndustry.biz, he states, “We’re about value, we’re trying to offer value.”

He adds, “With PS Vita we feel that $250 is the right price, and I’m not going to comment on where we might go in the future.”

Sony is trying to reposition the handheld as a companion device for the coming PlayStation 4 home console.

The company currently has a rumored policy which asks all third-party developers to add at least one feature that uses the Vita in their PS4 titles.

Since it was introduced, the handheld has generated smaller than expected sales, but Sony has resisted all calls for a reduction in price.
