Sony has confirmed that it's going to shut down the multiplayer support for three older shooters, in the form of MAG, SOCOM 4, and SOCOM: Confrontation, as the three titles will be taken offline on January 28, 2014.

Sony made an effort to get quite a few first-person shooters onto the PlayStation 3 a few years ago, and these included titles like MAG or SOCOM 4, both made by the recently closed Zipper Interactive, or SOCOM Confrontation, which was made by Slant Six Games.

Now, after a lengthy period of activity and not so successful sales, Sony has confirmed on Twitter that it's going to terminate the multiplayer services for the three titles on January 28, 2014.

At that time, players will no longer be able to access the multiplayer mode and will only have the option to play offline.
