A brand new report has appeared online claiming that the new wave of password resets for different PlayStation Network accounts is tied to a series of hijacks ran by FIFA 14 scammers on the PS3 and PS4 platforms.

FIFA 14 has always attracted nefarious individuals who use stolen credit cards and unsuspecting accounts to buy FIFA 14 Ultimate Team player packs, transfer them to their own accounts, and then sell the players on the grey market.

After a lot of security issues on the Xbox 360 one year ago, it seems that with FIFA 14 hackers have started targeting the PS3 and PS4 platforms.

According to a report from NeoGAF, hackers manage to trick Sony Support staff into giving them the passwords for different accounts, which they then use to play FIFA 14 and buy Ultimate Team player packs using stolen credit cards.

The packs are then transferred into the hacker's own account, which then sells the players on the grey market.

Unfortunately, neither Sony nor EA are commenting on this new report but you should be safe if you keep resetting the password from time to time.
