Sony announces that one of the development teams that will create exclusive content for The Playroom on the PlayStation 4 is Double Fine, the studio best known for the work it has done on Psychonauts and on Costume Quest.

The service is designed to show off the unique capabilities of the PS4 and all experiences launched on it will be offered for free for all those who get the next-gen home console from Sony.

The announcement was made during PAX Prime by Adam Boyes, who handles relations with publishers and developers, according to Joystiq.

The games that are part of The Playroom will use augmented reality and other core mechanics that can make players interested in the new hardware.

Double Fine is also working on Broken Age, an adventure game that will arrive in 2014, and on Massive Chalice.

Both titles have been funded via Kickstarter.

The PlayStation 4 will be out on November 15 in North America and two weeks later in Europe.
