Sony has confirmed that, after some suspicious activity on its PlayStation Network, it has decided to force a password reset on a certain number of PSN accounts in North America, following a similar measure in Europe a few weeks ago.

The PlayStation Network has more or less put behind the grueling hacker attack from 2011, when it was offline for a large period of time.

Since then, Sony has doubled down on security measures and precautionary systems.

Now, after several PSN users in North America reported sign in problems due to their incorrect password, Sony has confirmed on its forums that it has forced a password reset on some accounts due to suspicious activity.

As such, in order to keep the account safe, a new password is issued through the email of that user.

No word yet on how many acounts had their passwords reset or what suspicious activity was detected by Sony.
