Video game developer Frictional Games is delivering a new trailer for its upcoming Soma title, called Theha, which comes accompanied by the tagline "Why are they killing themselves?" but no other details about the coming experience.

The company describes its new game as "a journey into the dark recesses hidden between sanity and the incomprehensible."

The footage and the accompanying audio are taken from the current version of Soma, which is not yet feature complete and does not reflect the quality of the finished game.

Frictional Games is best known for the work it has done on Penumbra and on Amnesia, both titles that originated in the horror genre but striven to push its boundaries and deliver emotionally filled moments for players.

Soma is an even more ambitious project, which will use a brand new game engine that's designed to allow the development team to include even more variety in the way the characters included act out their parts.

No official information has been offered on the narrative of the title, but it seems to have something to do with Artificial Intelligence and the way humans react to it.

Frictional Games does not yet have a launch window for Soma, which should be out in 2015.
