Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, the new shooter coming from City Interactive and Namco Bandai, has finally received a release date, arriving later this year in August for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior delivered a pretty interesting experience that tried to replicate the real-life world of an army sniper, emphasizing stealth and precision over recklessness.

With the sequel, Polish studio City Interactive is trying to deliver an improved experience, both in terms of visuals, as it’s using Crytek’s CryEngine 3 technology, but also in terms of gameplay, with more diverse challenges and a smarter AI system.

Now, the studio, together with publisher Namco Bandai, have pinned a release date on the game.

Players will be able to experience Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 on August 21, if they’re from North America, or August 24, if they’re in Europe.

The title will appear for platforms like the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
