Sleeping Dogs was released last week onto the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms and now, in order to give those who’ve yet to try it out a taste of the experience, Square Enix and United Front Games have now launched a free demo for the game on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Sleeping Dogs started out life as True Crime: Hong Kong but Activision quickly dumped the project because it didn’t believe it would be profitable enough.

Square Enix acquired the publishing rights last year and helped developer United Front Games finish the project under the Sleeping Dogs name.

Last week, the game was finally released all around the world and now, in order to attract those who are still on the fence, the two companies have released a demo for the game across the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

You can download the PC demo right now via Steam, while the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the trial can be downloaded through the PS Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace, respectively.
