Sledgehammer Games, the studio that co-developed last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, is working on a new game in the shooter series, at least according to a job listing it posted for an FX artist.

Activision’s Call of Duty series has seen quite a lot of developers work on it, from the original creators, Infinity Ward, to other studios like Treyarch, Sledgehammer, or Raven Software.

Now, after co-developing Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer is once again working on the series and has posted a job listing for a Senior FX Artist that will help “create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [the] next Call of Duty game".

According to the job’s requirements, the artist must have experience with current generation consoles – the Xbox 360 and PS3 – so it’s safe to say that at least one more Call of Duty game will appear for these platforms and not for their eventual successors.

The job listing has been pulled, but it’s interesting to see if this Call of Duty project has anything to do with the third-person shooter reimagining that Sledgehammer worked on before being enlisted for Modern Warfare 3.
