The listing that mentioned Skyrim was coming to PS4 and Xbox One was just an error, according to Bethesda, which blamed it on a problem with its website content management system.

Many RPG fans got really excited today when Bethesda's website showed an updated listing for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, confirming that the popular title would appear on PS4 and Xbox, besides the platforms on which it has already been launched, like PC, PS3, or Xbox 360.

Now, Bethesda's Pete Hines has revealed on Twitter that the whole listing had been the result of an error with its CMS website tool.

"A bug caused platforms that don't exist to show up for some games. Sorry for confusion," he told followers.

As such, it seems that Skyrim won't be making the jump to next-gen consoles.
