14 DAY TRIAL // The team at Precursor Games working on Shadow of the Eternals says that it will not be able to finish the game if the currently running Kickstarter funding effort fails to reach its goal.
Shawn Jackson, the chief operations officer at the studio, states during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session that his company simply does not have any other source of funding.
He says, “we can’t be sure a publisher will share our vision for interacting with the community during development or this would work in the traditional model.”
At the moment, the Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter page shows that the team has managed to attract less than 10 percent of the money it needs, with another 18 days to go.
Shadow of the Eternals is designed to be a spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness, created by Silicon Knights.
