The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Shadow Warrior, the rebooted '90s cult shooter, have been delayed to October 24, pushed back a month since their initially announced release date of September 26.

The game is the reimagined and highly modernized version of the old 1997 first-person shooter from 3D Realms, most famous for its insane gore and irreverent humor, which translated in a large proportion into the PC edition, released on September 26 last year.

"Bringing Shadow Warrior to PS4 and XB1 has proven to be a challenge for us as we want to make sure the player experience is perfect. In play testing we have been focusing in on the controller inputs and response," developer Flying Hog stated.

"We recognised that we needed more time to improve this as Shadow Warrior is an old school FPS and this demands perfection. Sadly this means a small delay in the release date, but Lo Wang needs to be at his best on these shiny new consoles," the devs continued.

The next-gen versions of the shooter will come with some exclusive features such as a brand new Arena mode, offering three different environments for players to show their skills against waves and waves of enemies, and will include extra weapons and a bump in graphics quality.
