The Connecticut State Attorney has issued a report of its investigation into the Sandy Hook school shooting and has found no link between video games and the actions of the youngster that opened fire on his peers.

The report states, “The shooter did not recognise or help himself deal with those issues. He had a familiarity with and access to firearms and ammunition and an obsession with mass murders, in particular the Columbine shootings.”

According to GamePolitics, it goes on to explore his mental health issues and the way he was able to access firearms.

Soon after the Sandy Hook incident, a number of media sources claimed that the gunman was a big gamer and that violent titles like Call of Duty had influenced his actions.

It is true that he had a significant collection of titles, but it seems that he mostly played games like Dance Dance Revolution, and the official enquiry finds that they had no impact on his criminal actions.
