Koei has released another couple of trailers for the upcoming hack-and-slash game Samurai Warriors 4, introducing two more of the extensive cast's characters.

The game was initially announced in 2012, but it wasn't until last December that developer Omega Force has shown some of the first footage of Samurai Warriors 4's gameplay.

The three new videos show the new characters in action, doing what they do best, which is hacking and slashing their way through countless hordes of poor and unsuspecting faceless enemies, complete with various elemental powers and special abilities that send entire armies flying.

The first character, depicted in the video above, is the fierce Ginchiyo Tachibana, a real female clan head from the Sengoku period, who most likely did not shoot lightning as casually as in the game but was nonetheless impressive.

The second video shows Muneshige Tachibana, who was adopted by Ginchiyo Tachibana's father and later went on to marry her, securing the continuation of the blood line. He most probably didn't summon tornadoes in real life either, but he does in-game, which is all that matters.

The latest revealed character is unrelated to the two previous ones, and is known in history books as a skilled swordsman who wrote a treatise on how swordsmanship principles can be applied in life and politics, which still exists today. The impact of swordsmanship in day to day life was a lot more literal back then and relied much less on metaphor and much more on flailing about, if we are to believe the trailer.

Samurai Warriors 4 is going to be released on March 20, exclusively on Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms.
