THQ has revealed some impressive sales figures for its latest Saints Row 3: The Third video game, which has shipped over 3.8 million units and is breaking digital sales records for the company.

THQ has just confirmed that it’s changing its corporate strategy to focus more on hardcore games. In order to really highlight just how successful it can be with such games, the company presented some interesting figures for the Saints Row 3 title that arrived from its internal Volition studio.

According to Brian Farrell, president and CEO of the company, Saints Row 3 shipped over 3.8 million units globally and the lifetime forecast for the game is somewhere between five and six million units.

What’s more, the array of DLC that was released for the game has set a new record in digital revenue for THQ, which is bound to increase once new add-ons are released throughout the current year.

THQ and Volition, more or less, confirmed last year that another Saints Row game was coming and these sales figures add more weight to the possibility of a sequel.
