Square Enix is preparing for the 25th anniversary of its SaGa role-playing games series, and as such the official website has now launched.

The SaGa series consists of nine science fiction open-world role-playing games, and has originated in 1989, on the Game Boy, under the direction of Akitoshi Kawazu. It features non-linear gameplay and storylines, with many game mechanic innovations.

“December 2014 will be the anniversary for the SaGa series. We have various efforts being prepared for that. We’re still figuring out things out, but look out for a concrete announcement hereafter,” series creator Akitoshi Kawazu stated during a recent interview with Japanese magazine 4Gamer.

For now, the SaGa website only shows the 25th Anniversary SaGa series logo along with teasing a collaboration of some sort, details on which being currently nonexistent.

The big reveal is to be made on February 19, as the website hints.
