The famed developer of Crysis and CryEngine, German studio Crytek, is open to a possible PlayStation 4 version of its acclaimed action-adventure video game, Ryse: Son of Rome.

Crytek initially launched Ryse: Son of Rome last November, part of the Xbox One's exclusive lineup of titles, and the game has made its way over to PC in the interim.

This was due to the fact that, although the game was published by Microsoft, Crytek holds the rights to the property, which means that it can very well do what it pleases with it, including canceling Ryse 2, as rumor has it.

The PC edition doesn't just show up empty-handed to the party, but bundled together with all pieces of content released so far for the Xbox One version. Furthermore, Crytek also stripped the game of all manner of microtransactions before shipping it to the PC crowd.

Now, discussing the possibility of Ryse: Son of Rome, the former Xbox One exclusive historical action game, making its way to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, the game's Senior Producer Brian Chambers ignited a glimmer of hope for Sony's fans.

He revealed that the developer "is always open to new opportunities for our franchises, although for the moment we have our focus firmly on bringing Ryse to PC players, as well as the ongoing development of our other IPs: Warface, Arena of Fate and Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age," in an interview with Worlds Factory.

For the time being, the company has not announced any further future plans regarding the game.
