System Shock 2 is one of the most celebrated shooters of the 90’s and it seems that fans and newcomers might be able to play it once again on the GOG service.

An anonymous source tells FleshEatingZipper that the game is being conditioned to run on modern machines and operating systems and that after GOG launches System Shock 2, the game will also be delivered via the Steam digital distribution service.

Apparently, the GOG version of the game will include extra content, presumably manuals, artwork and the official soundtrack.

System Shock 2 was created by Irrational Games and Looking Glass Studios and published by Electronic Arts and a re-release never took place because of licensing issues.

The game pits a player character, with extensive customization options, against the A.I. SHODAN and against the organic Many.
