Respawn Entertainment, the team working on the new Titanfall, says that the size of the team was a problem when it came to taking the game to home consoles.

Fairfax McCandlish, a designer working on the game, tells Edge that, “We’re a very small team, so we had to pick a platform if we were going to be on consoles and Xbox made the most sense.”

The developer compares Microsoft to Apple because the company makes it easy for players to just turn on their console and then run a game in order to get access to their friend list and their favorite multiplayer mode.

Solid infrastructure and network support is very important to Titanfall because the entire structure of the game is built around multiplayer battles that also involve big narrative moments.

Titanfall will be launched in 2014 on the PC and the Xbox family of consoles.
