The development team at Respawn Entertainment says that trying to create a title other than Titanfall as its first project would not have been a smart idea.

Vince Zampella, one of the co-founders of the studio, says that the team’s core competencies are linked to the first-person shooter area and that Titanfall will have interesting and innovative ideas.

He tells Game Informer that “Breaking farther beyond that and doing a racing game or something we’re not familiar with wasn’t the smart thing to do. For us it’s something that’s in our wheelhouse that we can innovate on and do something new and expand from there.”

The new game uses an MMO structure and will use the power of the cloud in order to power both friendly and enemy Artificial Intelligence.

Titanfall will be launched on the Xbox One, the 360, and the PC in 2014.
