Video game publisher THQ has announced that Ron Moravek has joined the company as an executive vice president of production, in charge of assisting the team working on the new digital business side of the company.

Moravek was one of the co-founders of developer Relic, best known for the Company of Heroes strategy title and the Warhammer 40,000 based Dawn of War, and he left in 2006, just two years after THQ acquired the developer.

He has also worked at the Canadian division of rival company Electronic Arts.

Brian Farrell, who is the chief executive officer at THQ, has recently said that his company has been facing big problems in the last few years but it is now finding its strength again.

The publisher is focusing on core titles, including Company of Heroes 2 and a much-rumored Dawn of War III, in order to drive its recovery in 2013 and beyond.
