Each new Grand Theft Auto should deliver a fresh experience

Each new Grand Theft Auto game must deliver a new and exciting experience, so publisher Take-Two believes releasing a new GTA title every 2 years would drastically damage the brand.

GTA titles have sold tens of millions of copies with each iteration and many fans are looking forward to the release of Grand Theft Auto V this September on PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to Take-Two's Karl Slatoff, developer Rockstar needs to spend a lot of time with each game in order to make it unique and impressive.

As such, it's not possible to craft a new GTA experience every two years, as the quality would decrease and fans would lose interest in the new installments.

"Grand Theft Auto, every single time it comes out, is a brand new experience," Slatoff said, via Gamespot. "You can't possibly do that in two years. And if we did that, our product would fatigue and the franchise would degrade from a value perspective."

GTA V is expected to appear this September.
