Right after it confirmed that Rayman Legends would be out at the end of August around the world, Ubisoft has now issued a new set of release dates, pushing back the launch of the game in North America to September 3.

Rayman Legends has gone through a controversial development cycle, as it was initially set to appear alongside the Nintendo Wii U last year.

Since then, Ubisoft delayed the game several times and then confirmed that it was also going to appear for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

After releasing the special Rayman Legends Online Challenges App for the Wii U yesterday, the publisher had confirmed that the game would be released on August 27 in North America, and August 30 in Europe.

Now, however, a Ubisoft representative has told Joystiq that the actual launch date of Rayman Legends in North America is September 3.

No reason was given for this delay so Rayman fans in the U.S. or Canada will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on Legends.
