Ubisoft Montpellier made the most out of the surprising delay

Michel Ancel, the famous games designer behind the upcoming Rayman Legends puzzle platformer, has revealed that the game's recent delay, while surprising and a bit annoying, did allow his team at Ubisoft Montpellier to create 30 extra levels and add new boss battles to the game.

Rayman Legends was supposed to appear right alongside the Nintendo Wii U in November of last year, but was since pushed back to early 2013.

At the beginning of the year, however, Ubisoft confirmed that Rayman Legends would also appear on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms in September, and then pushed back the Wii U edition to that same month.

The delay prompted fierce reactions from fans and from the developer itself, including designer Michel Ancel.

The delay, even if it was quite hard to swallow, did allow the team to create extra content for the game, as Ancel told ONM that over 30 extra levels and new boss battles have been added to the game.

You can expect to hear more about Rayman Legends ahead of its release in September.
