The development team at Obsidian says that it is currently working on creating a complete vertical slice for its Project Eternity title, which might be shown to the public later during the year.

Rob Nesler, the art director of the team, writes on the official forums that, “This is a goal in which we focus on one part of the game within a shell of what is essentially the fully-featured game - relying on the things developed in the prototypes.”

This small part of Project Eternity will include a fully functional user interface, finalized art, solid gameplay mechanics.

Nesler does not say exactly when the vertical slice will be put together but he goes on to explain exactly what the art department at Obsidian is currently working on.

The classic party-based role-playing game is set to launch in 2014.
